What is KPV?
KPV is a tripeptide: a short chain of three amino acids in the order lysine, proline and valine. The letters are the one-letter codes for those amino acids. Dalmasso and colleagues identify it as Lys-Pro-Val in their primary research paper. Dalmasso et al., 2008: KPV and peptide transport.
For a purchasing specification, write both “KPV” and “lysine–proline–valine”, then record the product format and batch reference. The sequence abbreviation is a starting point: request the complete supplied specification if your method also depends on chemical form, formulation or other material characteristics.
Keep the experimental model in view
The same study investigated KPV transport in intestinal epithelial and immune-cell models and included mouse experiments. It examined the transporter PepT1 and inflammatory signalling. These are preclinical findings, not evidence that a product sold here is safe or effective for use in people. Read the study’s methods and abstract.
When reviewing a paper for laboratory planning, record the model, material specification and measured endpoint. A publication about KPV does not certify the identity or performance of a commercial batch. Use the batch’s own documents to assess whether the supplied material matches your research requirements.
Compare KPV vials, cartridges and pen sets
The catalogue contains three KPV formats. Choose the container and equipment you need first, then check the labelled amount. The cartridge and V2 pen-set listings specify 10mg; the vial’s amount should be confirmed from its current specification before making a quantity comparison.
| Format | Product listing | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Research vial | KPV research vial | One sealed vial. Confirm its labelled amount, supplied form and batch documentation. |
| Refill cartridge | KPV 10mg cartridge | One cartridge for a compatible pen system. A reusable pen is not included in this listing. |
| Reusable pen set | KPV 10mg V2 pen set | One 10mg cartridge, one alloy V2 pen and one 20-piece needle pack. Review compatibility and full contents. |
The reusable pen can be retained for compatible replacement cartridges. The pen’s three-year guarantee concerns the reusable pen, not the shelf life of cartridge contents. Our vial, cartridge and pen-set guide explains the format differences. Current product listings determine availability and contents.
A KPV purchasing and batch checklist
- Confirm the identity. Match KPV, the full sequence and any stated formulation across the specification, label and report. Ask the supplier to explain any mismatch.
- Check the amount and units. Record the total labelled mass separately from any concentration. A 10mg label alone does not mean 10mg per millilitre.
- Match the batch. Keep the lot reference, order record and relevant analytical document together. A report for another compound or lot does not establish the result for your purchase.
- Read the reported measurement. Identify the method, result, units and reporting basis. Treat identity, purity and content as separate questions; only record a result that the document actually reports.
- Retain handling information. Keep the supplied storage instructions and receipt details with your laboratory record. Resolve missing documentation before committing the material to a planned experiment.
Looking for a KPV report? Check the available laboratory reports. If there is no document matching the KPV product and batch you are considering, request the relevant information before ordering. The COA-reading guide explains how to review a report’s scope.
Common KPV purchasing questions
What do the letters KPV stand for?
K is lysine, P is proline and V is valine. Use that order when recording the peptide sequence; swapping the letters changes the sequence you are describing.
Do I need another pen when I buy a refill?
If you already have the compatible reusable V2 pen, the separate cartridge listing lets you buy a replacement cartridge without purchasing another complete set. Confirm equipment compatibility before ordering.
Can I compare the vial and cartridge by price alone?
No. Compare the documented amount, supplied form, included equipment and batch evidence together. The vial listing does not currently specify an amount in its title, so confirm that specification before calculating a cost per milligram.
Does the guide confirm a batch’s purity?
No. This guide explains purchasing checks. A batch-specific purity result must come from a matching analytical report that states the method and result.
